About

Viewer Discretion is a blog focusing on (but certainly not limited to) Philippine cinema and visual culture. We believe in looking at cinema not just in relation to filmmaking per se, but also in its larger context in society and history. Our focus is Philippine cinema, as there is a great need to write about local works, whether it be obscure art-house films or popular mainstream products.

Aside from cinema, we are also interested in television, art, design, online media, and everything else that contributes to Philippine visuality.

Tulad ni Ditas (Dina Bonnevie) sa Palimos ng Pag-ibig, para kaming karinderyang bukas sa lahat ng gustong kumain. Feel free to comment, repost, and add us to your blogroll too! Thanks for visiting our blog, and we hope you come back regularly.

Who We Are

Edgar, at your serbis!

Edgar Allan Paule loves mystery and the macabre as much as he likes macho dancing. Upon midnights dreary, he often ponders, weak and weary, occasionally drifting into the paradise of Efren.

Cris, Cris, titi matulis!

Isang part-time poet, si Cris Pablo Neruda ay minsanang nagpapa-puwit. “Quiénes son los que sufren?” lagi niyang itinatanong. “No sé, pero son míos,” walang duda/doubt.

Coco, ang pambansang ulam

Coco Martin Heidegger‘s name leads most people to think she’s a dude, but this “dude” is really just a Coco Lee fangirl. Despite its sheer political incorrectness, she likes being dominated by white men.
